Jennifer Sobel, MA, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Jennifer Sobel received an Undergraduate Degree in Addiction Counseling and a Masters’s Degree in Professional Counseling. She’s a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona, a Board-Certified Clinical Supervisor, and a primary therapist at The Sanctuary Sedona. She provides individual sessions focusing on the mind, body, soul, and spirit. In addition, Jennifer provides couple and family sessions as clients begin to bring closure to their time at the Sanctuary and facilitates weekly groups that include process, understanding root causes of addiction, recovery tool time, and emotional release. She brings a sense of vulnerability and authenticity to her work at The Sanctuary while offering a safe space for clients to heal, thus helping guide them back home to their heart and supporting them in awakening to their true self.

Jennifer has been working in the field of addiction and emotional recovery since 2010 applying her own personal experiences and endeavors in the world of complex trauma, yogic practices, somatic awareness, breathwork, and self-realization, and depth psychology. She has recovered from substance abuse since 2004 and has a broad spectrum of awareness around the root causes of addiction and the shame that many carry because of it.

She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and BSP (BrainSpotting) and has furthered her education in Depth Psychology through the Center of Applied Jungian Studies. She utilizes these concepts and modalities to help each individual gain a deeper understanding of their trauma, how it shapes them and how they can re-shape themselves. Her passions run deep in helping clients understand and develop a curious relationship to their internal psychic structures. Thus, inviting a deeper understanding of the patterns they’ve adopted while accessing their own resources to develop new ones.

While working with Jennifer over a 30-day in-patient program here at the Sanctuary, she will:

-Employ a diversity of healing modalities to support others in cultivating a deep understanding and relationship with their authentic self.

-Help her clients understand and release internal and external obstacles that keep them stuck in the same destructive cycles.

-Help her clients identify their innate resources and their capacity to heal and experience their own resiliency.

-Teach her clients how to understand and regulate their own nervous system so they can rediscover feeling peaceful and joyful.

-Work with her clients to discover what brings a sense of meaning and purpose to their lives and what steps they can take to manifest their future.
