Chris Kalinich is a trained culinary nutrition educator and founder of Plant2Platter who practices the “food as medicine” daily approach. Each bite taken is an opportunity to nourish every cell in the body with foods from the earth, nurture the brain, and speak to the soul. As the Sanctuary’s plant-based nutritionist, Chris is guided by her professional mantra: Educate, Equip, Empower.
Culinary nutrition blends the science of nutrition with the art of practical cooking to restore well-being and help prevent disease. It is key to achieving healing and maintaining body balance since food is intricately connected to both physical and mental health. As a food therapy guide, she comes alongside individuals to support them on their food and health journeys.
Chris received her BS in Education from Northern Arizona University and completed graduate work in human relations and organizational management. After working in higher education and corporate training she discovered her calling in the health and wellness field. She is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and the National Association of Nutrition Professionals. She is currently completing the health professional credential requirements to be Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition.
