At The Sanctuary, we define “recovery” differently than how it is defined in traditional treatment centers, 12-step programs, or the allopathic medical paradigm.  In the traditional paradigm, recovery describes the process of combating a disorder.  The word implies an ongoing diseased oriented process.   You are always trying to get something back and you never succeed.   In the new paradigm,  we believe recovery is the process of regaining something that has been lost, given away or has been taken from you.  We believe that addictions and disorders are symptoms of underlying issues and that it is possible to identify and resolve these issues and to move into a state of being recovered.  Being recovered means that you manage the difficulties that inevitably come along in life and see them as growth opportunities, which you can do something about, rather than your disease, this implies that you are a victim.  Being recovered means that you are no longer defined by or identified with a disease.

We Offer Shamanic Wisdom Healing.

Our philosophy and program is shamanic.  Shamanism has a worldwide presence and dates back more than 5,000 years.  It is based on the fact that energy is the basic building block of everything and that energy organizes all relationships in the material world.  Energy has intelligence to organize life. Therefore effective healing must include attention to the human energy body.  In the new healing paradigm, you learn to become your own inner shaman.  Although we are here to guide you towards a path of health, wellness and vitality, only you can heal yourself.  We believe we are all shamanic and all have the ability to not only recover, but to also discover how to walk between the worlds of the unseen energy and the material realms so that you may find your purpose and passion in life.

We Offer More Than Just Symptom Management.

You are NOT your disease or diagnosis. We focus on root causes not symptom or disease management.  We don’t treat addiction or depression, because these are only symptoms.   Rather, we help you identify and resolve the underlying cause of your problems.  Additionally, trauma and suffering is not just stored in the mind, it is stored in every cell in your body as well as your energy field.  By working at the levels of the body, mind, soul and spirit, you will begin your journey to discover and recover. 

We Are Secluded, Private and Intimate.

The Sanctuary sits on 22 secluded acres situated in the middle of the Coconino National Forest. We are 30 minutes from downtown Sedona but a world away.  We only have 5 guest rooms, which means your stay is intimate and private.

One-On-One Sessions.

Virtually all of your sessions will be one on one, so the focus is on your specific issues.   Additionally, your time with the staff is not limited to therapeutic sessions.  Practitioners are typically on site and available to you before and after sessions and often at meals.     You get unparalleled personal attention because we have found that breakthroughs happen outside of therapy and healing sessions.

We share meals and are available to guide you every step of the way.   We live what we teach and “walk our talk” which offers you a more profound and authentic experience.

You Really Are and Think and Feel What You Eat.

We believe that the body needs pure, nutritious and energetic food in order to heal and recover.  All of our food is NON-GMO and organic. Our chefs take great time and care in providing meals that will support your healing.  As example, we do not use microwaves to cook or warm anything as that disintegrates the cellular structure of the food.  We also have our own garden to grow much of our own vegetables.  These have the highest nutritional value and also taste great. 

We Give You Magic.

Yes, magic.   We will help you remember, feel, the magic, the mystery, wonderment and awe of life.  It is still there waiting for you. It never left.  You did, but only until it was safe to rediscover it again. It is here waiting for you.
