We live in family systems and the impact of our behaviors affects our loved ones. When one person is out of balance, they bring the whole system out of balance. A loved one who is actively in the cycle of self destruction infects those close to them like a virus. The stress of worrying, arguing, lying, embarrassment, manipulation, disconnection and hopelessness all take their toll and cause imbalance and sickness in the family. In dysfunctional families, it is common for close family members to do things they would never have imagined themselves doing. This process happens over time and family members often do not realize that they themselves have fallen into a self destructive cycle.
The Sanctuary is a place for family members to work through their own issues and focus on their own empowerment and healing. We work with family members, not in giving them information or coping skills focused on their loved one, but to help them uncover and move past their own blocks to a full life. We work with them using the same methods we use with their loved one.
